CAMPAIGN PRIORITY
To keep Salve’s foundation strong, we will expand our financial aid program, preserve our iconic campus, engage our alumni, and share Salve’s mercy mission across our local, national and global communities.
We will increase Salve’s accessibility to bright, promising students from populations that have been under-represented in higher education. Doing so not only fulfills our mission but improves the educational experience for all students, fostering mutual respect and understanding. Salve will be an inclusive community that celebrates the uniqueness of all individuals and recognizes the value that each person brings to our campus.
We will preserve the warmth and majesty of our iconic campus, a dynamic home to intellectual and social engagement for our students and wider community. Nestled alongside Newport’s Cliff Walk, Salve stewards 21 historically significant buildings, and will continue in our commitment to preservation by pursuing adaptive reuse projects to maintain the architectural spirit of the structures that serve as a backdrop for students’ academic and personal growth.
Our mission calls us to serve our community. We will deepen our relationships with businesses, organizations and nonprofit institutions in Newport and the surrounding region. We will expand our community collaborations and experiential learning opportunities in which Salve students make a deep and lasting impact. We will grow our College Pathways Program, designed to increase the number of Newport public high school students going to college. When Salve thrives, Newport flourishes.
The SALVEfund – the University’s annual fund – will be a powerful resource for all aspects of Our Mission. Our Moment. When gifts to the fund are pooled together, the impact reverberates across the campus and is immediately felt. Including The SALVEfund in our campaign ensures that every member of the Salve community has a role in our story. Every gift makes a difference. Foundations and corporations consider the number of donors to Salve each year when evaluating us for their potential philanthropy. A yearly gift to The SALVEfund is a vote of confidence in Salve’s future and communicates to these constituencies that Salve is worthy of support.
